Fool Me Twice

26 Mar

“Fool” is such a great track by Neutral Milk Hotel, from back in the late ’90s.  It seems so mysterious and evocative to me.  I’ve always wondered why they didn’t have more commercial success, but I’m going to go with the fact that their name is so stupid.

But…I’ve barely typed that sentence and I’m already poking holes in that theory.  You know why?  Danger Mouse. Equally stupid name, but it doesn’t sound like it is because we’re used to it.  Anyway, Danger Mouse, under the pseudonym Pelican City, sampled that great song later on for the song “The Fool.”

Go ahead – download both.  I’m feeling super nice today. (Neutral Milk Hotel & Pelican City)
